The Angel's got their way

Monday is the anniversary of my mothers passing it inspired this

The Angel's got their way

Today so many years ago, the Angel's got their way, they came and took you home with them, I'll not forget that day

Why did they take you away up there, it really wasn't fair, when so many of us needed you down here, the pains so hard to bare

I know so many loved you, your loss for them was tough, I hoped you'd live forever, your years were not enough

They came and took you early, they gave you Angel's wings, i needed so much more time with you, a chance to tell you things

So I'll write them in my poem, the one you'll never read, to say thank you for the love you gave, when I was so in need

When I was in my plaster, then that stupid brace, when I tried to hide from the world, you gave me strength to show my face

To hold my head high though I looked a freak and to believe I'd find true love, you inspired me to carry on, as you do now from up above

You showed me how to bake, gave me the love for art, I still use your brushes, though now we are apart

But I still feel you near me, I think of you each day, I miss you mum with all my heart, now the Angel's got their way
