Waves
They drift in on a coral reef
Like a paperweight thrown against the wall
They pull me into the tide
Like a rip current
I struggle against them
The people on the shore watch
I shake and tremble as I return
With the waves
Released for a moment
Like a newborn softly set in a crib
I never even knew I was born
A moment's repose
Ripped away once again
By the current
