Ballad- poem 9 of 10 in 'Letters of Affliction'
To my love,
My greatest friend.
My everlasting protector.
My noble fortress.
Your laughter is my shroud,
And your kindness embraces me.
Your strength is my shield,
And your patience comforts me.
Yet my love,
I hear you.
I see you.
I feel you.
Your pain is equivalent to mine.
Your yearning is equally ravenous.
Your fears are my nightmares.
Our heart, bruised and broken.
Sorrow reigns,
But companionship defies.
Our affection immortal,
For our dynasty has just begun.
