Vulnerability- poem 7 of 10 in 'Letters of Affliction'
I flayed the skin from my breasts.
Sternum cracked and spread,
My wings emerge.
Broken bones crowned my head.
A gown of muscle cascades.
A train of tendons shadows.
Organs adorn my body,
An ornamental vessel.
The goddess within reborn.
Displayed in my blood,
Awakened from my tears,
Manifested in my crucifixion.
Tears flowed through my body,
Blood drained from my eyes.
Words sowed the torn skin,
And mended the bones.
Crucifixion healed a broken heart.
Martyrdom returned my soul.
Surrender harbored me.
Vulnerability embraced me.
