Warriors
We've both fought in gruesome wars
And both of us have made it out alive.
Somewhat
In our own ways we've fought against merciless enemies.
You, fighting your own head to the sounds of bulletrain in a locked down Cairo.
Me, against close relations supposed to protect and care for me.
The aftermath left us with shattered self-esteem
Both wars had fatal losses and consequences.
But we are here.
We're standing in the midst of the battleground's ruins
I don't remember when we started running,
And I don't know where we're headed.
But I'm with you, and you with me.
And that's all I reall need.
And both of us have made it out alive.
