Sonnet For a Time

Time will end when the sun holts to a crisp.
When the sky becomes nothing but ash
When the wind hushes to a dull, cold wisp
When man’s dial changes next, it is his last.

When time is nothing and nothing is time.
When there is no ground to walk or run on.
When my words die, and stop at the last rhyme.
When life is over and time ends at dawn.

When man is gone, nor a legacy left.
When a world is not there, and seems it never was.
No books, no stories, taken by a theft.
When never exists in a soulless cause.

Time is just a hand under glass, just time?
When my words die, then time will never more rhyme.
