Troubling me to never-ending dread
The only time it seems to pause

This is incredibly clever and conjures images of a battle poised, both sides ready to fight. I love your word play with ‘clause’; it digs a little deeper to reveal more about the type of beast we’re all really dealing with. Excellent spill, Love ♥️
