Hush My Children
I have no intention to stay,
No intention to be enemy
Upon your barren shores
Where there's apples on the tree
Long grass in the pasture
There's a snake waiting to snap at you
Whisper sweet harmonies in your ear
While coiling around your heart
Your recoil, is the most dangerous part.
It's too late to react,
falling back only leaves you grounded,
Wings never fully adjust
To the heavy words thrown around them
God hushed your lips to the secrets of eden,
The little crease between your nose and mouth,
Every visage the same.
silencing his secrets when we were cast to earth,
we all battle one another for rights to passage,
But remember not where we came.
For his fingers pressed gently upon us,
Creating the indent of God's mute children
No intention to be enemy
Upon your barren shores
Where there's apples on the tree
Long grass in the pasture
There's a snake waiting to snap at you
Whisper sweet harmonies in your ear
While coiling around your heart
Your recoil, is the most dangerous part.
It's too late to react,
falling back only leaves you grounded,
Wings never fully adjust
To the heavy words thrown around them
God hushed your lips to the secrets of eden,
The little crease between your nose and mouth,
Every visage the same.
silencing his secrets when we were cast to earth,
we all battle one another for rights to passage,
But remember not where we came.
For his fingers pressed gently upon us,
Creating the indent of God's mute children
