Lessons in life

They say you don’t know real love until you’ve crossed it
But you don’t know the cost until it costs you
Sacrifice your life and all the in between for a chance at a future that you’re lost in

Arguing facts like they were fiction
I don’t want a new life, I want you to listen
This shit is hard and you’re so far
But all I do is pray for the times it’s okay and for the fixing

So tell me about the sad times
I know you weren’t hooked on drugs, you were hooked on pain
Waiting for the day that there was enough to take it all away
Even though the ones you loved were telling you to stay
You couldn’t see another way, this was the way
