Pharisee

Please teach me how to testify.
I have so many testimonies i need to share
But i know not how.

I have neither the tone nor the smug
Needed to stand before this congregation,
The confusing scripture nor the holy theatrics,
The tongues nor the superficial joy,

All I have
Is an intimate story of God's goodness,

But I fear,
Before your holy eyes
It might not be enough
To earn me a sit in your heaven of course.

I feel inadequate,

Who am I to stand before judge and jury in church courtrooms?

So please!
Teach me how to testify
Like a holy man
And in return,
I will teach you how not to pretend to be a holy man,

Hypocrite!!

I know who you truly are
When you think no one is watching.
