Toxic Stream

I was curious and walked to that toxic stream.

I gazed at the waters and saw I was looking at me.

Reflecting on hard times that ol’ depression and anxiety.

A cruel fate awaits yet no one told me.

The waters rise to my surprise. It was quick as lighting.

Swept off my feet and the current I was fighting.

Hands of misery and hate rose from the murky stream.

Clawing digging trying to pull me down beneath.

-

I held my breath and closed my eyes.

Remembering all my family that died.

Now it's the time to finally realize.

Theatrical puppet string exercise.

-

Washed up on the side of the stream sun in my face.

Wipe sand from eyes, I don’t even recognize this place.

Trying to think and it’s all positive things that come to mind.

I'm smiling and feel amazing but I really don’t why.

Greeted by my best friend that hanged himself.

Look at him smiling too in perfect health.

Gazing over there’s all my friends and family.

That toxic stream very well may have saved me.
