a mess
the ceiling hit the floor today
the walls, they seemed to shrink away
but the wall between us, it stood too strong
a mark of everything gone wrong
what will your mind see when you sleep?
how will you dream while not in my keep?
and tonight i'll turn away from you
tonight i won't lie next to you
and though i choose the path in shadow
sometimes, allow me a guide to follow
we're halting time, like grinding gears
i've seen your mind, and held it dear
entertain me, firefly
flit about me in the night
because tomorrow you'll cry out for me
although you still won't care for me.

but the wall between us, it stood too strong
a mark of everything gone wrong
what will your mind see when you sleep?
