Story
Can I tell you a story?
About times I was grateful, no longer hateful
No craving for more, yeah my heart was made full
Can I tell you a story?
About when I was happy
Young, I was rapping
Simpler life and simpler songs
That’s where I believe that I truly belong
Now I’ll tell you a story about wonderful things
Love, trust and laughter with nights I felt like I had wings
Flying so high
Flying so high, I could touch the sky
Fall down and I’d be alright
Stay up and lapped it all night
Until mornings I’d sleep when it’s light
So let me touch up before I cry
Now can I tell you a story about stuffed up behaviours?
Searching for a saviour
You can call me a traitor but I’ll see you later
Sold out a life full of love and of failure
I had all I wanted but I turned aside
The day that I left was the day that I died
Asking me the questions, hey, are you alright?
Too focused on thinking and being out of sight
Now you, yes you, I wanted to share with you too because I.. I have a lot to learn, a lot of time to burn
I know you want it too but please wait your turn
We’ll learn a lot and we’ll plot our concerns
So you, yes you, you share it too
We’ll hide, we’ll cry, we’ll stay up all night
No longer stay out of sight, it’s our time to shine
Like a sun full of rays, our lives will be fine
So you, yes you, we’ve paid all our dues
And now.. Our story to write
Is yours... On the day that I die
About times I was grateful, no longer hateful
No craving for more, yeah my heart was made full
Can I tell you a story?
