My mistake, the end of us

Hey C I'm sorry I missed your birthday
I had the dates mixed up,
Hurting you was never my intention
I must have been distributed
By your beautiful eyes that I wasn't paying attention.
If you could just forgive me
And give me another chance
I swear I'll make it up to you.
You see I don't think I'll ever love someone else
As much as I love you.
Then I pulled her in, squeezed her to tightly
Then kissed her with all the passion in me.

With tears in her eyes
She said poetoftragedy I think you and I are special
But if you said all this before you missed my birthday
Everything would have been different.
I waited for you on that day,
Kept checking my messages and phone calls
Hoping you had texted or called me
And to let me know you remembered.
But that wasn't to be
I was wearing that t-shirt you gave to me with our names on it.
With you I was patient
But that day I couldn't take it.
I went out with this guy
We talked a little,
Had few drinks
And then went to his place.
Now I'm pregnant and he gave me HIV...
I don't think you get it
You can never be forgiven
I'll always look at this child and see what a few words could have changed,
I'll always look at my status and you'll be to blame.
So tell me poetoftragedy what's the point of telling me you love me when you say it at the wrong time?
