I stumbled upon you
Never seeked out to find
Someone that seems too
Have crept in my mind
I longed to touch you
This flickering light
Your twinkles they pierce
Through my long night
The darkness around you
It called out to me
Whispers kept plaguing
This man that is "we"
For We never judge
For We never complain
We shower me with kindness
Without a hint of blame
Lighting fine embers
That flare into flames
And in my heart burned
A scar in your name

I was moved by this. Had a very similar experience with someone now very dear to me.

We met by chance at Karate class in the days when I used to teach it. There was no initial spark and she looked way younger than she was, so I didn't think much more of her. At this point in my life I'd given up hope of finding someone to be with and was accepting my fate to be single forever more. Then we met again at the Christmas party. She's now my second wife and by far the deepest love I've ever had for a woman.
Love isn't always at first sight, and sometimes it springs form a person you'd never have thought of along those lines. We could so easily have missed each other that day. God knows where I'd be today without her, somewhere dark, I know that for sure.
Sorry, a bit carried away. Only because your words manage to reach beyond my eyes and go deeper.
