Image for the poem the red day

the red day

jilted disaster walk on the down the road
hitchhiking on out of here
as threatened so many times before but never done
the bitch fled the scene---

a tear stained drama unfold late in the afternoon
her voice hitched and her frame shook
while she rage at no one imparticular

the outraged day drew onlookers
to be so riotously accused
its ire raised it railed down on the ladies shoulders
the weight of her reality was heavy

the thought she could leave it all behind an optimistic one
the day fought like a jealous lover clinging to her as a rank accusation
in the end she sat on the sidewalk head hung in defeat

the crowd departed they'd seen it before
act one scene two of my great getaway
in the end there was never a car fast enough to outrun my demons

Author's Note
kind of a true story with the exception of the onlookers there was none for my episodes howerever during that period I threatened to hitchhike on out of here in hopes of leaving my demons behind I know it's a funny idea but a true one none the less...
