finding my heart

Awed!

Summer announced itself with authority
Sun beating down in all severity
Even the ants seemed lazy...
As I trail their journey

Hunched over entranced...
Appears a pair of the most petite feet    
Stunned my traveling  eyes refocused,
Noticing the nails,colored and neat

Getting up and my vision clears
Heatstroke!!
That was my first fear
An angel?...here?

Suddenly parched and devoid of speech
Heart hammering,ears ringing
Taming my body is what I seek

With a cracking voice“ hey” is all I manage
She smiles once again I'm dazed,
As Sweetness flowed from her, mouth, with every phrase

Madre...Mother
That was her name!
serenely spoken not one iota of bother
Humbled in her presence all forgotten my nervous strain

Those eyes held me willing captive
In Those lips lay endless promise
Heaven was embodied in her very stance
Drinking her very being in
God! How long have I been in this trance?
And then I felt it! The connection

Our eyes confirmed
As the silent  answers returned

A strangely familiar rhythm moved our feet
,Walking heartbeat to heartbeat,
Into our destiny down the street
