A PURGE

Being in a timeless space,
tranced out in a
creative place,
where imagination
is given time to play,
where emotions
are given time to say
how they feel.

A time when the self
is actually real,
when the artist
digs down deep,
exposes things
usually found
in sleep.

Brings them out
into the light of day
to have a look,
after a purge,
opening the book
to see what came out.

Being able to look within,
without all the other shit
that usually goes with it.
All the guarded justification,
complicated explanation,
just cutting through,
finding out what’s important.
