Couple days went by
I still could function
But after a few days
And no answer
Drastic decisions
I had to make
Calling people
To no avail
Almost unveiling my true feelings
Just for a little info
Leading me
To posting notes on your door
Which is a big no no
Something you hate people to do
But I finally saw you
Your high tech doorbell
Alerted you
That someone was on your doorstep
With a DUO ring
Your face was on my phone
With the little energy you had
Get that shit off my door
I could only chuckled
And tip toe my ass back to retrieve the message
But the news of you
In ICU
Dissolved all my inner strength
That night
Mixed feelings filled my head
I knew you would be alright
But the devil left me with doubt
Bringing me down to my knees
Pleading to the Lord
If something happens
Take me away
Because I felt
I didn't do enough
And I call myself a friend
To walk out
And basically
Leave my friend on the ground
But my Lord
Rest assured me
Everything was going to be alright
And three to four days
You was back home
And that Friday
We spent most of the day
Together
You even elected to ride with me
To do something essential
Oh how I wanted to
Hold
Hug you to death
But social distancing
And your strength
What kept me still
But once again
My soul is filled with happiness
Because my friend is home
I love you
Not one day goes by
Without me thinking about you
And during these stressful times
The government preaches
Social distancing
And all I want
Is to spend time with my friend
In this time of need
