One Day....
One day...
One day all of our troubles will be no more
One day those too BIG obstacles will become sand beneath our feet
One day every tear will be wiped from our eyes
One day we can trade in our sorrows for everlasting joy
One day we can exchange our not so perfect bodies for perfect ones
One day all of those aches and pains will not exist
One day we can throw away every clock we own
One day we will have all the time we need to do all those things we enjoy doing, or want to do
One day...
One day...I am going to dip my toes in the clearest brook
One day...I am going to lie under a tall shade tree and dig my toes into the thick, lush, green grass
One day...I am going to go on "Indian Time" (no clocks...it's far less stressful)
One day...I am going to run with the wolves and play with the deer
One day...I am going to dance and not care who's watching or what they think
One day...I am going to sing like an Angel
One day......

Author's Note
We've all had days where the end seems to be nowhere in sight. The obstacles are too BIG, and too many. Often I find myself wondering 'where do I even start'. Our lives are controlled by the clock. There are tears, sorrow, pain, frustration, stress... That's when I think about the day when all of that will change.

Re. One Day....
I look forward to that day... but until then, all we can do is strive for peace and happiness.

Thank you, NewBeginnings for taking the time to read my poem and to leave me a note.
"New Beginnings" has a special meaning to me. It was the name of a church I attended when my children were small. It's where I learned that I CAN sing like an Angel (When it comes from our heart, to our Creator's ears).
Blessings to you

The 1st two paragraphs and the last line, "...I am going to sing like an Angel" made me think the "one day" _ was the "last day" on earth and transition to the after-life. But the last paragraph had physical goals, so the last day doesn't completely fit. This piece made me think of the Harry Chapin song - "Cats in the Cradle". Don't wait too long.

thank you, DaVinci_07.
The first 2 paragraphs are about looking forward to Heaven. The last is saying, No...I am going to make changes now. The "sing like an Angel"...I always thought I couldn't sing. One day I decided I was going to SING and to my Creator's ears I would always "sing like an Angel". The church I was attending at the time, heard me sing and wanted me to join their small group of worship singers. It was a life changer. I had allowed the painful voices in my head to keep me from singing like an Angel, but now I am free.
Thank you for taking the time to read and share with me. Blessings to you

I *felt* that was a word that fit...
We all hear the message differently...
We just have to *listen* to the voice within...
And marry it to our world outside...
Blessings...

What my take is from this is that Indian Time may have no clocks but African time works on a more similar concept.
African Time is not at odds with a person who says, "I'll see you later."
Later can be today, tomorrow or any other time in the future.
There are words that will be used to let the person feel that their next encounter is eminent without time constraints.
I am heartened by your recognition of the concept of time that allows us as people to be freer even if for a few moments.
The last stanza takes us to a place that many of us would like to find ourselves living in.

Laluma,
Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful take from the poem.
I LOVE this: ..."their next encounter is eminent without time constraints."
Thank you for teaching me about African Time.
..."to not be at odds with a person"... I find that to be most peaceful.
Blessings to you
