Swan Song

 

I’m sorry that I projected onto you
tried to craft a relationship you never sought

Caught caught up in the beauty and the kindest
my romantic longings expended for naught

Regret that you had no reply when I expressed my desire to see more of you
could I not see the caution signs ahead
pretty much navigating with out a clue

Well maybe not a clue
suggests my intelligence isn’t up to a woman of your type
got carried away with clouded visions of you embraces or maybe my internal misguided hype

Probably won’t completely stop thinking about you
but I can make an effort to stop you in your write
telling me you don’t want to hurt me
some apples one should never bite
