I'LL BE ME

I'll be me the way I am,
not for you to understand.
I'll be me and you'll be you,
there's such a difference
between the two.

So don't try to make me
be like you,
because I'm going to do
just what I want to.

I'm going to look to the stars,
set my goals high,
because no one can answer
the question of why.

I'm going to look to the sun,
chase all my dreams,
because nothing is ever
as bad as it seems.

I'm going to watch the moon shine
in the darkness of night,
I'll gaze into nothing,
still I'll see the light.

I'll always be me,
you'll always be you,
we can't be the same
no matter what we do.

I hope you understand
these words I say,
we'll always be different
in our own way.
