Although I'm over 80 and healthier than most
My claim to be fully functional is perhaps an idle boast.
I'm slower than I used to be at many things I do
I do not walk so fast and running is taboo,
The floor is much further down, than it was in my youth
To pick things up is a struggle, if I tell the truth.
My memory is still quite good; obscure facts are still there
But to remember the name of things, I have to fret and swear,
At night I sleep quite well but in the middle I awake
Then I need to get up to pee and my limbs ache.
My organs seem functional although at a slower pace;
But the opportunities are rare to get past first base.
Overall I am lucky to be so healthy at my age
How long it will continue is difficult to gauge
