Just the Tip

If you don’t want to hurt someone’s feelings,  
You may want or opt to give them the lie,  
For it may just the tip of the iceberg,  
But just know that things may and will go awry.  

If you’re in deep shit because you can’t commit,  
The truth is always bound to come out,  
You may want to build a new reality,  
So it will fit the story when there’s doubt.  
 
If you keep quiet about important things,  
Or decide to leave out certain details,  
Then you might as well also be lying,  
Your train of fibs will surely go off the rails.  
 
Here’s the gist of it, really own up to it,  
A lie is a façade of a flawed view,  
If you choose that path you’ll deal with the wrath,  
Just know, there’ll be no one to blame but you.
