Life with an alcoholic

Its not as bad at first
There’s so many opportunities to do whatever you want and get away with it
But after a few months,
It gets quite tiresome
Stuff isn’t getting done
Bills aren’t being paid
Mom’s to drunk to go to work
You have to get a job,
Drop out of school,
Become a full-time mom.
Day after day,
You’re forced to watch her drink her life away
You tell her she has a problem
She kicks you out of a house that you pay the bills for
The only thing your worried about are your younger siblings
They don’t know how to deal with that monster
You’re only 17 you need your mom not that monster
She finally lets you back in her house
You think this lifestyle will never end
Just when you can’t take it anymore she says she’s going to stop.
She does for a while, even gets her job back
But you know this wont last long
Its only days until she relapses
You’re terrified
You want this vicious cycle to stop
What can you do?
You can’t change it.
You just live your life
Taking things day by day,
Not knowing when she’s going to give in again.
