Compass

The oasis fades faster      
than I can speed    
As if it's only desire      
           Is to be chased    
 
  Unreachable destinations    
My emotions are in limbo    
         Drifting out of control      
                    until they expire    
     
       Pounce on me;  
            Make me the prey    
For I pray to be enlightened      
until the sky becomes grey    
Pour on me;  
    Drown me with rain      
Continue to reign      
over the source of my pain    
     
I'd follow the horizon    
but it would lead me to fall    
Tempting my vision      
   Into false guidance      
   
Unfaithful hands      
      Relax at 10 & 2    
Weaving in & out      
to cheat the Sun    
 
     From it's shine      
          & the rest it deserves...
