like the autumn
to live as a child.
in the moment,
for this little while.
in the cover of a smile.
to see, all so safe.
some other time,
in another place.
but to grow old, in this world,
knowing there won’t be a hand to hold.
dreams and visions, coming.
with forceful revelations.
unfit and maladjusted,
even His Holiness...
can’t assist the one, who pretends.
for what is, is. And comes to an end.
to give my love,
to receive it as a child.
in all its innocence.
Truly the lacking in patience,
this tragedy,
that leaves me in this other place.
to take you in the shadows.
to hold you, a prisoner.
with no dawns.....no windows,
no purples, oranges nor yellows.
a captive of the damaged heart.
you, a prisoner, in my dark.
for I am no child....
and never in this day
could I take the time.
whisking it all way...
taking a moment to play.
leaves, like the autumn. I too,
stumble on level ground.
a footing that has slipped its hold,
as I reach, grasping at…
