Earthbound

I never did fly
I thought I had wings, but they were a lie
I was never meant to leave the ground
Ever doomed to be earthbound
 
I wish I could fly
If I could take off just one time...
I promise it'd be enough
I'd never ask again
 
I watch others fly
They lift their wings and take to the sky
But not me, I must be too heavy
I'm stuck down here wishing I was like them
 
But I'll never fly
That's not my life
I'll just haunt the uncaring ground
