When Someday is Long Ago

When someday is long ago,
I will watch the falling snow.
When yesterday has never been
I will wait for all that we have seen.
In your eyes, I see an ember
You are all I will remember
When someday is long ago.

If tomorrow comes no more,
I will wait for yesterday
To see you as once before
In the moonbeam and ray.
And though my soul be weak,
You are all that I will seek
If tomorrow comes no more.

If yesterday had never been,
Would we have met to meet again?
If today had never dawned,
I’d bring flowers from Beyond,
And my heart beats in each bloom
With their sublime and rich perfume
If yesterday had never been.

If I could, I would wake anew
To the first time that I saw you.
But that day has gone
My tears now ponder on
How it would be if you were mine
With your heart like summer wine
When someday is long ago.
