let sleeping words mark death
Teck sleep mark death. —Jamaican proverb
i leave my words behind
to lead the blind
who do not know at first
why there’s a thirst
for lyrics born to find
the troubled mind
or trickle to the soul
out of control
at times i might offend
a would-be friend
by dangling rhymes that shoot
the naked truth
the ink i spill might drown
the fiercest frown
or pierce the hearts of fools
who breach the rules
let sleeping words mark death
lest you forget
that silence may shrewd lines
ensanguine
when lyrics canvas bleed
the souls are freed
that bravely eulogise
my lullabies
