In Case You Wonder
Forgive me
if I should appear absent
but certain challenges
snake up my alley
in November
For 30 days
I dabble in flash fiction
just to see if I can
produce with regularity
The thrill of a prompt
giving that freedom
that I need not think ahead
This is the closest
I get to setting goals
for the most part
But keep that coffee on,
for I may swing by
from time to time.

My poetry may take a dip in the next month. I know from participating in my last NaNoWriMo challenge it was a push some days to hit the mark. So if my commentary or output decreases, it is nothing personal.

That's one helluva tough challenge & commitment few can honor. It's one that I know won't be easy, I most definitely couldn't. So I wish you much success with your trial & error endeavors & ultimately, best wishes towards your output come that time. Pandy hugs!

I did it for the first time last year. Follow the prompt and run. It truly helped to get a collection of brief pieces together. 30 in a month, and always the freedom to rewrite or expand after the initial draft. It will be a good focus for the month ahead. Day 1 flowed pretty good and I still had time for the DUP. Appreciate all the encouragement you've dished.

Haha. .damn, I'm over here not realizing it's November! I'll get this brain intact soon.😅 I'm glad you still fit DUP in.. I hate NaPo time because DUP get so quiet & we're already on life support. * deep sigh*
I applaud you. I'd probably cheat, writing them all before challenge started or a get a head start atleast. 👀...but I didn't realize there was a prompt. Perhaps I can offer half of the month. If all else fails, throw a whole 17 syllables out there with a senryu, I guess....🤔

Yes, and it began like that classic G'N'R song. Rainy, bleak and windy. But as we both know, sometimes time is overrated.
The beauty of the prompt is you can't plan ahead. I think it all counts. A flash/or poem could simply be one line. As long as it jams that prompt in ...target it. I don't do the poetry one. It's a little more sporadic for me to find the voice and splice it in the order to capture the thought. Prose is much easier, once I get that initial line I can take it anywhere. I'd rather drop in on the DUP to commiserate with the tribe if time permits, despite the growing silence from some of the regulars.
