A Simple Act of Love
Wistfully wishing away, as i sit here by the bay
the water cools my tired feet, the wind it breathes the day
i toss a penny in the stream, the cost of a dream to pay
and wish upon the clouds that pass, so happy as i lay
My worries are buried beneath the hills, my sorrows all drowned in the sea
the only thing that bothers me now, is the way i used to be
the sky seems so much bluer now, the light it shines so free
as i lay in the shade of the home that i made, by the trunk of a great willow tree
I now have learned to smile and laugh, where once i used to rue
I'll never spare a fleeting thought, for the sadness i once knew
I'll never tell of my days in hell, before my dreams came true
and everything i have today, i owe it all to you.
