Lost at Sea
Could we stay here at the surface
Where I know what's going on
Nothing deeper than the shore
And my feet still feel the sand
Could we keep our heads above water
Where I still can feel the sun
It's so bright and there's no mystery
A beautiful numbing effect
Could we go back to the shallows
I confess, I'm getting scared
Things are happening too fast
And the tide pays me no mind
Could we paddle towards that driftwood
Looks to be the one reprieve
From the sea of life that rages
Without warning or relent
Could we just live here in ignorance
Pretend that we can swim
Though I don't know how to navigate
And the undertow has come
Could you grab my hand, I'm sinking
And it's oh, so dark below
Out of breathe, sight is dull
And my limbs don't seem to work
Could you lie to me just once more
Would you please say it's alright
Disregard the waves that crash in
And ignore me as I drown
Where I know what's going on
Nothing deeper than the shore
And my feet still feel the sand
Could we keep our heads above water
Where I still can feel the sun
It's so bright and there's no mystery
A beautiful numbing effect
Could we go back to the shallows
I confess, I'm getting scared
Things are happening too fast
And the tide pays me no mind
Could we paddle towards that driftwood
Looks to be the one reprieve
From the sea of life that rages
Without warning or relent
Could we just live here in ignorance
Pretend that we can swim
Though I don't know how to navigate
And the undertow has come
Could you grab my hand, I'm sinking
And it's oh, so dark below
Out of breathe, sight is dull
And my limbs don't seem to work
Could you lie to me just once more
Would you please say it's alright
Disregard the waves that crash in
And ignore me as I drown
