§
for
i a m
i n n o c e n t
of the b l o o d of
all the f l o w ’r s that die
in fate’s s o l e m n g a r d e n.
some are plucked u p by the root,
others from the n e c k beheaded;
callous hands choke some till faded;
some are harvested like f r u i t
petrified a n d h a r d e n e d.
all t h e angels s i g h
for t h e lives o f
flow’rs we rent
each damn
hour.
