INKling No3 – patience
‘tis not so much
a disembodied waiting
should fill the heart
while precious time’s abating
transcribe the blank
with golden pen
for moments lost
live not again
look past your pain
with penitence
patience knows naught
of insolence
let virtue from forbearance flow
only the wise learn thus to grow

(Your inkings had me thinking about
Galatians 5:22-23 New International Version (NIV) -- and perhaps that's the point, right? Or one of many points - to get the reader to ponder, remember, meditate........)
Often Patience and Tolerance go hand in hand but for me, i think i prefer to replace tolerance with kindness and so a gentler type of Patience (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NIV)
I did enjoy You rhyme here on the process of exercising Patience, though.

When it comes to tolerance, that's one notion I avoid and abhor. To me, it is a presumptuous thought to believe that I am in such a lofty position that I have the right to "tolerate" anyone. It's like saying, "Although I cannot stand you, although you are a lesser being than I see myself, I will try to accommodate you without puking." Tolerance, to me, breeds a certain impatience and a supercilious attitude that is not acceptable.
NB The series is called INKlings (with an L after the ink). INKling No1 carries, under Author's Note, the philosophy behind the project. I could expand the idea by suggesting that, just as a baby duck is a duckling and a child a fledgling, so an INK-ling is a kind of "little ink" (short poem on a critical issue).
