Different

Hello, I am different in every possible way
I stand out like the night on any given day

I walk alone with no one to call home
Because I am me, Unique I roam

Some see me with eyes in awe
Some look at me and think I'm flawed

But that's okay, you see
'Cause I am proud to be me

I am different among the plenty
The copper dime within the twenty
 
The one in the crowd
That stands out loud

The one who walks with no fear
Embracing myself with self revere

I have been called names and gawked with laughter
The joke's on them,
 Acceptance isn't what I'm after

I am simply just being me
Fully entirely comfortably

There's no rules of behavior in my book
There's no fashion guide I took
There's no template I ever follow
There's no magic pill I swallow

I just go by my own inner heart
And that is what has set me apart

Different as different can be
And I am proud to be me
