Y O U
I've tried to pop in a couple times,
you’re never home.
You lent me a hand, your breath has been my wind.
For now, Ill just write this poem.
Even if I never see you again, forever a friend.
All the stories penned and verbally vented,
I wonder, do you still know em?
I shared my life with you
and now I can't even get a hold.
Still, I miss you and wish you luck,
but I pray you’re not trying to duck
and just happen to be out when I
pull up in the truck. Maybe Ill
walk next time,
cover up the peep hole
and steer clear of any peering eyes
through your crooked blinds.
Would you answer then,
red faced, embarrassed that you stole
from my soul and left me behind?
Would you even be kind?
Kinda cold, I must admit,
if I saw you in the street
id probably wait for you to speak first
or else my balled up fist might just hit..
That's not really true,
just a little blue, a little confused,
after all we were through,
I really thought I knew
you.
