Alive and awake
Alive
And awake
I breathe
And I take
A look around
Alive and Awake
I smile
And I talk
It’s been a long while
Since I took a walk
I am Alive
And I am Awake
I fooled myself to think
Someday I will strive
To no longer ache
I will smile
And I will talk
I will giggle
Like a child
With chalk
But for now
I lie to myself
I am alive
And awake
