Weigh Down
On the shore of the sea, a lady strolls
In search of the shiniest shells
To bring back home, a token to remember her journey
Tucked in her pocket,
Her hands cannot stop it,
Acting upon the whispering of the waves
Rewiring the circuit board of her brain
She was always short a circuit or two, they said
Embedded in her mind, the words would sink in
Sinking into her thoughts,
She’s thinking and thinking but never to a halt
A train of memories, a stroll with strife
Crashing into her heart, it cuts like a knife
A mother to her child, baby, it’s not your fault
But it wasn’t blame that brought her down.
From her shoulders, the pressure rolled
Down her spine and to her calves
Chaining itself to her ankles, assembling the weight of the world
She told her secrets to the ocean, and the waves carried them away
Away, away
Parallel to the shore, never to meet
Timid to the tide, bonding with the bubbles
A close relationship, never to replicate
Not with a soul, but with a splash
She dives into the water, never to come back
In search of the shiniest shells
To bring back home, a token to remember her journey
Tucked in her pocket,
Her hands cannot stop it,
Acting upon the whispering of the waves
Rewiring the circuit board of her brain
She was always short a circuit or two, they said
Embedded in her mind, the words would sink in
Sinking into her thoughts,
She’s thinking and thinking but never to a halt
A train of memories, a stroll with strife
Crashing into her heart, it cuts like a knife
A mother to her child, baby, it’s not your fault
But it wasn’t blame that brought her down.
From her shoulders, the pressure rolled
Down her spine and to her calves
Chaining itself to her ankles, assembling the weight of the world
She told her secrets to the ocean, and the waves carried them away
Away, away
Parallel to the shore, never to meet
Timid to the tide, bonding with the bubbles
A close relationship, never to replicate
Not with a soul, but with a splash
She dives into the water, never to come back
