When and how?
Thinking of death again
And wondering how 'twill come.
Will it be from illness
Or will it be a gun?
Will it come with violence
At hands of thugs with knives?
Who gain a few possessions
By taking others' lives.
Will it be an easy death,
Like going to sleep again,
Or will it be an awful one
In blood and fear and pain?
It cannot be a far-off thing
As it seemed when young,
For now I'm almost certain
That it has in fact begun.
And wondering how 'twill come.

Thanks. You are right: almost all of us must think about it from time to time. The trick is not to dwell morbidly upon it.
