My Daughter
My daughter, my love
sent straight to me
from heaven above.
That first cry
I did hear,
I knew immediately
my angel did appear.
From the moment
that I saw your face,
I knew my life
would never be a waste.
You are a very special gift
and my days you will always uplift.
You have the most beautiful eyes
and shame on anyone that makes them cry.
You are why
I live and breathe,
you have given me a reason
that in myself I must believe.
sent straight to me
from heaven above.
That first cry
I did hear,
I knew immediately
my angel did appear.
From the moment
that I saw your face,
I knew my life
would never be a waste.
You are a very special gift
and my days you will always uplift.
You have the most beautiful eyes
and shame on anyone that makes them cry.
You are why
I live and breathe,
you have given me a reason
that in myself I must believe.

Thier is nothing greater than a child. Born into this world so innocent. Beautiful poem. Very rare a one about a given life here.

This is a really great poem. To be honest I smiled while reading it. To me getting an emotional response out of the reader means so much and you got one out of me. For that I say thank you. :)

This takes me back to two of the prettiest song's written about children, "John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy", and Don Henley's "Annabel"---a sample of Henley's song goes like this:
I watch you sleeping
My weary heart rises up on wings
I hear your laughter
Something deep down inside me sings
Oh child, I cannot tell you how the time just flies
But I have had my days of glory under sunny skies
These days, your bright dreams are all I want to see
Sleep tight, Annabel
You can always count on me
I watch you sleeping
My weary heart rises up on wings
I hear your laughter
Something deep down inside me sings
Oh child, I cannot tell you how the time just flies
But I have had my days of glory under sunny skies
These days, your bright dreams are all I want to see
Sleep tight, Annabel
You can always count on me
