Suddenly In A Blink Of An Eye
The sun was brightly shining.
It was a picture perfect of a day.
When I stared outside my bus window
and watched all the other school kids.
I thought I wish I was out of school for good.
Funny how quickly time passes.
Suddenly with a blink of an eye,
I was out of school for good.
now as I am an adult I look back at my life
I remember when I was four
how play time with my mom was so fun,
At six I wished that I'd be grown up
so I could help.
At 12 I had so much fun with my family, and
I didn’t want things to ever change.
Now thinking I miss way back when.
Now there's no more,
mom tuck me in at night or,
dad telling me it’s time to get up for school.
I never dreamed that by wishing,
I'd be all grown up this fast.
Now wishing that I could be a kid again,
so I could still play with my mom and
have dad one on one time again.
Maybe I'd learn to remember the little things.
Like what book was my favorite,
my mom would read me,
or what tools to use when fixing things,
with my dad.
how I'd treasure each moment.
If given a second chance,
but life just isn't that simple,
and this is a wish that no one can grant.
Why is it we never learn before the,
clock ticks away the time,
to cherish each new day,
in our hearts and in our minds,
instead of looking back and,
asking ourselves why.
When we are all grown up,
suddenly with the blink of an eye.
It was a picture perfect of a day.
