Undressing Me Ever Slowly
I gaze beyond the tedium
above the played out words
romancing from page to page
in that corner nook on 59th
a poets grace
bows amongst the masses
endearing an unending sensitivity
held fast in every heartstring strung
I hear it playing over and over in my mind
the sounds so soft and sweet
tumbling with love, compassion, and care
I delightful, sense it all
unearthing wisdom in each breath
caressing the silence
and my body, of work
while the world turns ever faster
you kiss the lips of humanity
undressing me every slowly
each syllable, each word
some spoken, all heard
heart tugging heart
reveling in every part
