If you had just looked.

I wanted to make it special
Make you feel divine and precious
But you never even noticed
I dressed up for you
Put on a little make-up
Draped our table with crimson velvet
Lit the wicks of the tall candle tapers
But you ignored it and pushed me away
Without even a glance of candid acknowledgement
I hope you choke and see for once
That I made all the effort
I tried once more to grab your attention
Wore that little black dress you once admired
Then made a cut for the palette of my morbidness
Painted my lips macabre blood red
By the time you noticed it was too late
I bled out all over the fine arrangement
It’s a shame I only meant for you to take a look.
