First Poem 1976 “Untitled” age 19
Your weary body sits almost lifeless
as the bus drags on.
A blank stare looks out the grey window
you look through
Heavy slit eyes strain to keep from sleep,
A sleep without dreams?
Scars of time
Like sand dunes
covers an aching face,
Thirsty tired hands
Holds on to yesterdays newspaper.
The bus passes the cemetery again.
as the bus drags on.
A blank stare looks out the grey window
you look through
Heavy slit eyes strain to keep from sleep,
A sleep without dreams?
Scars of time
Like sand dunes
covers an aching face,
Thirsty tired hands
Holds on to yesterdays newspaper.
The bus passes the cemetery again.
