Darkness

Darkness abides in all of us.
Darkness abides even amongst the best of us.
and in the worst of us,
Darkness not only abides but it reigns!

Darkness abides in our hearts
seeks room in our mind
and if permitted,
it not only inhabits
yet it creates and establishes its kingdom

Darkness is patient
Darkness stands in the background as light reigns
a mere shadow, it remains
Darkness never grows impatient

When light fades
and day passes,
giving room to night.
Darkness moves and whispers
and to the faint-hearted
Darkness finds room not only to dwell,
yet to be!

Darkness reigns where light fails
Even in the mist of light, it remains
It is just there, invisible!
Yet in the worst of us
Darkness absorbs light!

Darkness lives
Darkness feeds
Darkness absorbs
Darkness whispers
faint, weak yet dark whispers
Its voice is soft and cold
Its persuasive and manipulative
Its will is strong and cunning
Its threshold is binding and paralyzing
Its breath is lime with scents of mold and corruption

Darkness is not merely an absence of light
Darkness is substance
Darkness is texture
Darkness is real and
Darkness is tangible
And to those willing to accept it
Darkness is a spirit

In the Genesis of time
Darkness represented all things evil and corrupt
Darkness was disorder perfectly ordered
and when light came
Darkness was separated from light
and it was thus given the name "NIGHT"

Darkness rules when light fails
yet in time, it has expanded it's kingdom even in light
Darkness has found inhabitants in idle souls
Which opened a doorway for it to move even during the day

Now darkness is found in all of us

Darkness abides in all of us
Darkness abides even amongst the best of us
and in the worst of us
Darkness not only abides but it reigns!
