Down Under

The punishment was harsh to be exiled
Victorian justice the stocks and birch
Prison ship shackled to a destiny
A commonwelth apart this territory
Born outside all western scapes
Barren deserts and strange beasts
Native tribes with feasome looks
Against the likes of captain COOK
He planted fast the Union Jack
And paint it pink upon the map
Ayres rock where its spirit lies
That riven in the fabric of diversity arrived
And were set free with opened eyes
They worked to biuld a paradise
As we surf upon the beach
Or on our quad bikes round up sheep
The spiders amid the snakes share our home
Summers drought when the beer in warm
Gather round the "barbie" one and all
And sing "waltzing matilda" till the dawn
