Blurry Nights
Well,
Come along now
Weve got voices to hear
Weve got legs to walk around on
Hearts to fear
And there it is looming in the sky
All the beauty
The bright white light
And then I start to go nowhere
But im halfway to the end
The call is closing time
im staying out again
My legs are shivering
Out in the cold
I might be half your age
But my heart is pretty old
As I look up
Hands out in the sky
God whispers down to me
And I stop and wonder why
Why cant heaven be a darker place to be
Why Cant I fight your pleasant memory
And as I stand there wonderin at The night
The stars all fall
And my eyes
They say goodbye
And then it occurs to me
While the breath is deep beneath
I cant live this lie
Of sweet old disbelief
Come along now
Weve got voices to hear
Weve got legs to walk around on
Hearts to fear
And there it is looming in the sky
All the beauty
The bright white light
And then I start to go nowhere
But im halfway to the end
The call is closing time
im staying out again
My legs are shivering
Out in the cold
I might be half your age
But my heart is pretty old
As I look up
Hands out in the sky
God whispers down to me
And I stop and wonder why
Why cant heaven be a darker place to be
Why Cant I fight your pleasant memory
And as I stand there wonderin at The night
The stars all fall
And my eyes
They say goodbye
And then it occurs to me
While the breath is deep beneath
I cant live this lie
Of sweet old disbelief
