What to do?

To kill my dog or myself
This is my struggle
He isnt happy in his little bubble
Am I being selfish, I wonder
You see I'm a slave to the system.
A system that is designed to make young black men and women believe that they are the problem.
It creates a defeatist mentality that grows so strong that by the time they finally break free in their mind, the reality of their situation is too far gone.
Yes they have the mentality to make something of themselves but they've already dug a hole that is too deep to climb out of.
We drink to numb the pain of not being normal, while trying to win the rat race.
A race that is only set in place to manipulate our time.
You see, many people feel that the mind is our greatest asset but what does it take to strengthen that assest?
The answer is time and unfortunately by the time we become self aware and strive towards a better version of ourselves, we are already slaves to the system.
My question to whoever reads this is, if we're setup for failure, left with just enough rope to hang ourselves, why won't society let us do it?
At least I fell for the bs game, my dog did not. Why must he suffer alongside me? He has no consciousness, so he has no say in the matter.
Suicide seems to grow sweeter with every stride I take towards being a better me. So why are we destined to live this hell on earth lifestyle. Thank God for my dog. When he goes, I'm not sure how long I'll be able to fight the sweet temptations of going into the dark slumber that is nothingness.
