I'd stand my ground
placed feet in manly stance
steadying my footing

Then she'd go off on her
talking
Welcoming the revealing like
a best friend home from holiday
Sometimes she'd whisper close
up
just out of earshot when within her
delicate hold
like I wasn't privy to such personal
conversations
punctuated by loud giggling
& the wetted kisses

..oh God those kisses
